But this didn't turn that way, so . . . .

It's a general truth that as you move up the levels, the players' skill level gets better. I can't really imagine an exception.Memphis MOJOhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12653631347560307425noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3083330322113258405.post-83182379267795788162008-10-07T03:29:00.000-07:002008-10-07T03:29:00.000-07:00It's an interesting debate. For the affirmative, I'd like to argue:
- the jump between levels in microstakes sees very, very little difference in skill level
- the #1 most important, critical, imperative, dang important thing for full ring cash is table selection. If there's 3 or 4 times as many fishies swimming over in the next pond, that's where I'm dropping a line! :)

FGForrest Gumphttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06314271152182792365noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3083330322113258405.post-77346463090986830072008-10-06T19:00:00.000-07:002008-10-06T19:00:00.000-07:00Well, I would have to agree and disagree with both...Well, I would have to agree and disagree with both FG and CG. Hah!
Not really.

I believe CG left two groups of donks out of the equation for her fav time slot, and that is midwesterners and east coast folks who are very, very drunk or tired. I look for them first when picking a room.bastinptchttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01831273031973399021noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3083330322113258405.post-20310900956811790702008-10-06T10:21:00.000-07:002008-10-06T10:21:00.000-07:00@FGWe'll just have to agree to disagree, Mr. Gump....@FG

We'll just have to agree to disagree, Mr. Gump.

IMHO, a lot of it has to do with the time of day. A sweet spot for me is between 12 and 5 am ET, when PS seems to be inhabited by people on the West Coast of the US who are too tired, and a buncha wild-eyed Aussies ( :D ) drinking brewskis, and then some Euros getting in a few hands when they should be at work. Perfect!Cardgrrlhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06329562674934869003noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3083330322113258405.post-68809735101827697882008-10-06T01:24:00.000-07:002008-10-06T01:24:00.000-07:00On Stars it is CG, simply due to the relatively sm...On Stars it is CG, simply due to the relatively small # of players. At 25NL I can usually find a bunch of tables where they 'give' their chips away.

I think one factor is where its located in the lobby. The 10/25c tables are at the bottom of the micro lobby, but 5/10c is wedged somewhere in the middle. So put yourself in the mind of the casual player:
- Mmmmmm, lets play some poker and crack open a fresh brewski.
- What's this? A 1c game? I can't be tossed playin' for 5 bucks.
- Dang, lets scroll to the bottom.
- Woah, $25. I can go that. Lets gamboooooooll!

FGForrest Gumphttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06314271152182792365noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3083330322113258405.post-59528548470334291012008-10-05T22:51:00.000-07:002008-10-05T22:51:00.000-07:00Oh, and 10NL tougher? Titles are tough but fun when they click.

Mr. Gump, Yes, the player pool is smaller, and it can be a bit frustrating finding a table that is both attractive and with a short waiting list. There have been a couple times when I have said to myself, "Oh, just go play some 25NL," but I have managed to resist.

Can we call it something other than "scared money"?bastinptchttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01831273031973399021noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3083330322113258405.post-27210415948253443332008-10-05T18:06:00.000-07:002008-10-05T18:06:00.000-07:00Great news B, you got your mojo. ;)One quick thing...Great news B, you got your mojo. ;)

One quick thing, next time you're on PS compare the # of 10NL tables vs 25NL. A quick check just now and I can see maybe 4 times as 25NL tables.

I actually found 10NL alot tougher than 25NL, cos the player pool is so much smaller. I wonder if the disadvantage of playing in what I think is a tougher level is more than offset by not playing scared money?

FGForrest Gumphttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06314271152182792365noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3083330322113258405.post-9949376346387067682008-10-05T16:51:00.000-07:002008-10-05T16:51:00.000-07:00Sounds like your life and the pokering is on the r...Sounds like your life and the pokering is on the right track!
