It might be Mike Seeger. There is a color clip on YouTube that states they knew each other for 20 years. Holcomb wasn't "discovered" until 1958, and died in 1981.
Found myself mesmerized watching his left/right hand technique. The real masters have such speed yet it's effortless and you need to look very closely to see how quick he's really playing. Tx for sharing.
