Well, that sucked.

I know you have said boats are common in Omaha, but still an impressive fold.

I was all in on the turn.

This probably explains some of my poker losses! I really should take up something easier, like bridge.

Don't play high only hands for a raise in O8. Ok, maybe play them occasionally, but when the flop comes low, you are in trouble and should be folding or getting to SD as cheaply as possible.

In general, don't put the money in unless you can scoop (lest you get scooped).

MP had a classic O8 hand. When you get into a big pot, you can expect to see a hand like that one most of the time (nut-low, with nut-high possibilities).

I found learning O8 to be cheaper (and maybe faster) playing limit, rather than pot-limit.

Question for Loki9: If someone plays using your above guidelines, what percent of hands (general range) might they play?

omaha hilo is such a pain. All I do is fold preflop and on the flop.

You need an Ace and a 2 or 3. You prefer that ace suited. You can play a hand with a 2 and 3 on it without the ace, but, you need a 4,5 or 6 also. AND, you need the flop to have an ace and at least two one more low.

SO, hi lo is a folding game. Only reason to learn it is to know what to do when it cycles up at that eight
game.

I'm shocked. I ignorantly thought hi-low meant you could play twice as many hands. I think I will stick to losing at nlhe!
