Normally a cloudy, rainy day is not the ideal time to take photos. Yet, for what I wanted to accomplish with these photos, the lighting is perfect, even if aided somewhat by Photoshop.
This stand of tress is about a mile from our house. I've been wanting to shoot them for a while.
Not oaks, I know. Doug Firs. I like the lines.

Nice photos. I think you said one time that the lichen looks different (color-wise?) when it's rainy out. Is this so?

Yes, with rain, the lichen seems to stand out more against the tree itself and the background, and has a bit more of a green pop to it. A little ray of sunlight coming through the clouds would add some more dramatic effect. The eye sees things differently than the camera, however, and that's where Photoshop helps. I'll be tweaking these a bit more.
